Chapter1 'The Royal Soldiers'


-----(OPENING)-----

これは　バトランドという　ちいさな　くにの　おうきゅうせんしの　ものがたり。
ライアン　つまり　あなたも　その　おうきゅうせんしの　ひとりでした。
あるあさ　おうさまは　せんしたちを　おしろの　ひろまに　よびあつめました……。
This is a story about royal soldiers of a small country called Burland.
One of the royal soldiers is you,Ragnar.
One morning,the King summons all the soldiers to the Castle court...


-----(EVENT)-----

＊「これより　おうさまから　そなたたちに　おはなしが　ある。
　　こころして　きくように。
　　'The King will speak to you.
　　 Listen carefully.'

＊「みなのもの　らくにして　よいぞよ。
　　'Everyone,at ease.'
＊「さいきん　こどもたちが　いなくなるという　うわさは　おまえたちも　きいて　おろう。
　　'You must hove heard the rumor that children have been vanishing recently.'
＊「けさも　イムルのむらより　ははおやたちが　なみだながらに　うったえにきて　おる。
　　'The mothers from Izmit Village came to me in tears this morning begging for help.'
＊「このくにの　おうとして　もはや　ほうっておくわけには　ゆかぬ。
　　'As the King of this country,I cannot ignore this problem any longer.'
＊「ことの　しんいを　たしかめ　この　わしに　ほうこくせよっ！
　　ゆけ！　わが　せんしたちよっ！
　　'Find the cause of these disappearances and report to me! Go,my soldiers!'

＊「せんしさま！
　　どうか　わたしたちの　こどもを　さがしだして　ください！
　　'Oh,Soidier,please find our children!'
＊「あのこは　いきています。
　　わたしには　わかりますわっ。
　　'They're alive! I know it!'

-----（場外へ出る戦士）-----

＊「まあ　のんびりやろうや　ライアン。
　　'Let's go slow,Ragnar.
　　 Let's go slow....'

-----(バトランド城内・昼）----

＊「そなたの　かつやくを　きたいしているぞ。
　　ライアンよ。
　　'I am counting on your good work,Ragnar.'

＊「ささ　なにをしておる。
　　はやく　ゆかぬか。
　　'What are you waiting for? Go.
　　 Go now.'

＊「ライアンどの。たたかいで　キズついたら　まちにもどり　やどに　とまるといい。
　　'If you get injured,return to a town and rest at an inn.'

＊「ながたびに　なりそうなら　まちで　やくそうを　かっていきなさい。
　　'For long trips,take along Medical Herbs.'

＊「せんしさま！
　　どうか　わたしたちの　こどもを　さがしだしてください！
　　'Oh,Soidier,please find our children!'
＊「あのこは　いきています。
　　わたしには　わかりますわっ。
　　'They're alive! I know it!'

＊「わたしたちは　イムルのむらから　やってきました。
　　'We came from Izmit Village.'

＊「まえは　よるしか　でなかったまものが　ひるまでも　でるように　なったとか。
　　ぶっそうな　よのなか　ですわい。
　　'I hear that monsters which only appeared at night are now appearing during the day.
　　 Troubled times,are'nt they?'

＊「ライアンさま。どうか　ほかの　せんしたちに　おくれをとらぬよう　がんばってくださいまし。
　　'Don't fall behind the other soldiers.'

＊「よう　ライアン！
　　まだこんなところを　うろうろして　あいかわらず　のろまだな。
　　'Hey,Ragnar,still here?'
＊「ほかの　れんちゅうは　イムルのむらに　いったんじゃないのか？
　　'Haven't the others already left for Izmit Village?'

＊「かいぶつは　むかしから　いたが　さいきんになって　こどもたちが　すがたを　けしはじめた。
　　なにか　あるのだろうか？
　　'Monsters have been around for some time.
　　 They may be the cause of the recent disappearances of children.'

＊「ここは　バトランドの　おしろ。
　　'This is Burland Castle.'

＊「あやしいものは　いっぽたりとも　とおしはせぬ！
　　'I won't let anyone suspicious pass!'

＊「まちのそとにでて　あるきつづけると　やがて　よるになりましょう。
　　'If you keep walking outside,night will fall.'

＊「ライアンどのか。
　　いや　きになることが　あってな　ちょっと　しらべているのじゃよ。
　　'Oh,Ragnar,I'm researching somethig.'

＊「ちかごろ　そらを　ながめていると　むなさわぎが　してならぬ。
　　'The sky makes me uneasy these days.'


-----(バトランド城・王の間)-----

＊「ここは　バトランドおうの　おへやです。
　　'This is the King of Burland's chamber.'

＊「まったく　ここの　おうさまは　りっぱな　おかたです。
　　'Our King is truly admirable.'

＊「きょうかいで　おいのりをすれば　そなたの　きろくが　できよう。
　　'You can record your progress at any House of Healing.'
＊「いくさきざきの　きょうかいを　たずねよ。
　　'Wherever you go,find one...'
＊「そして　カミに　いのりをささげ　ぼうけんのしょに　きおくしてもらうのじゃぞ。
　　'and record your progress on the Imperial Scrolls of Honor.'

＊「よくぞ　もどった　ライアン！
　　しかし　そのようすでは　まだ　あまり　しんてん　しておらぬらしいな。
　　'Welcome back,Ragnar!
　　 I see you haven't progressed much.'
＊「いっこくも　はやく　かみかくしの　げんいんを　つきとめるのじゃ。
　　'You must find the cause of the disappearances at once.'
＊「そなたの　かつやくを　きたいしているぞ。ライアンよ。
　　'I am counting on your good work,Ragnar.'


-----(バトランド城下町・昼)-----

＊「ここは　バトランドの　じょうかまちです。
　　'This is the Castle Town of Burland.'

＊「ほんに　いつみても　りっぱな　おしろじゃのう。
　　'A splendid castle,always....'
＊「わしも　おしろの　せんしに　なってみたいものじゃ。
　　どうじゃろう？　つれていってくれぬか？
　　'I wish to be a royal soldier.
　　Say...can you take me along?'
　　（はい）＊「おお　まことか！？
　　　　　　では　ついていくことにしよう！
　　 (YES)'Really!? I shall follow you then.'

　　　　＊「はぁはぁ……。
　　　　　　やっぱり　としよりには　むりのようじゃ。
　　　　　　きにせずに　いってくだされ。
　　　　　　'Gasp...Gasp...too tough for an old man.
　　　　　　 Go on alone,please.'

　　（いいえ）＊「やっぱりのう。
　　　　　　　いや　むりをいって　すまんかったわい。
　　 (NO)'I understand.
　　 Sorry I bothered you.'

＊「バトランドおうは　ひとがよくて　このくには　ぜいきんも　やすい。
　　'Burland's King is good-natured and keeps taxes low.'
＊「しかし　そのぶん　ぶきや　ぼうぐにも　あまり　おかねを　かけられないのだ。
　　'Unfortunately he can't spend much on your equipment.'
＊「もっと　きょうりょくな　ぶきが　ほしければ　じぶんで　おかねをためて　かいかえるといいだろう。
　　そして……
　　'Accumulate gold to buy more powerful weapons and armor.'
＊「あたらしく　ぶきや　ぼうぐをかったなら　そうびしなおすことを　わすれるなよっ！
　　'Be sure to equip yourself with them after you bui them.'

＊「この　おしろから　にしの　どうくつをぬけ　うみぞいをいくと　イムルのむら　ですわ。
　　'Izmit Village is on the coast beyond the cave west of this Castle.'

＊「イムルのむらに　いけば　なにか　わかるかもしれませんね。
　　'You may find out something at Izmit Village.'

＊「ライアンどの！　しっておるか？
　　'Ragnar,did you know?'
＊「とびらには　かぎのかかっていない　ものもあり　カギなしでも　あけられるはずじゃ！
　　'Some doors aren't locked.
　　 They open without a key.'

＊「わたしは　フレア。
　　おっとアレクスが　たびに　でたまま　もどらないのです。
　　'I'm Flora.
　　My husband,Alex, hasn't returned from his last trip.'
＊「せんしさま！　たびさきで　もし　アレクスを　みかけたら　しらせてくださいまし！
　　'Tell me if you see him!'

＊「かいぶつだって　まちのなか　までは　はいってこれないわ。
　　'Even though they're strong,monsters can't enter towns.'
＊「でも　だったら　どうして　こどもたちが　いなくなるんでしょ……。
　　'But why do children vanish?'

＊「なにか　おかいものですか？
　　だったら　みせのそとにでて　テーブルごしに　はなしかけてください。
　　'Want to buy something? If so,go outside and talk to me from across the counter.'

＊「こどもが　いなくなるって　ほんと？
　　'Is it true that children are vanishing?'
＊「でも　ぼくは　もう　こどもじゃないから　だいじょうぶだよねっ。
　　'I'm not a kid anymore,so I guess I'm safe.'


-----(バトランド城内・夜）

＊「おうさまは　すでにおやすみだ。
　　'The King is asleep.'

＊「こんやは　やどやにでも　とまって　また　あしたくるといい。
　　'Stay at an inn tonight and come back tomorrow.'

＊「やれやれ。
　　みまわりも　らくじゃないな。
　　'Ho hum...guarding isn't fun.'

＊「ふーむ……。
　　しらべれば　しらべるほど　にておる！
　　ちかごろの　てんこうは　そのむかし　まものたちが　あれくるった　じだいに　そっくりじゃわい。
　　'Hmm...the more I compare,the more similarity I find.'
　　'The present weather resembles that of past times when monsters reigned.'

＊「あのこのことを　かんがえると　よるも　ねむれなくて……。
　　せんしさま　どうか　どうか……。
　　'Worry for my missing child makes sleep inpossible....
　　 Please find my child....'

＊「さあ　ねるぞ　ねるぞ。
　　にんげん　やっぱり　ねむるときが　いちばん　しあわせでござる。
　　'I'll go to sleep.
　　 I'm happiest when I go to sleep.'

＊「ぬおー！　でたな！　かいぶつどもめ！
　　はっ…………。
　　なんと　ゆめであったか……。
　　'Aha! You monsters!
　　 Oops...I was just dreaming....'


-----(バトランド城下町・夜)-----

＊「このいえの　おくさんは　ながいあいだ　かえらぬおっとを　まってるそうじゃ。
　　かわいそうにのう……。
　　'The woman of this house is waiting for her missing husband to return.
　　 How sad....'

＊「なんねん　まつきなんだろう？
　　いいかげんに　あきらめて　このわたしと　さいこんすれば　いいのに……。
　　'How long will she wait? She should give up hope and marry me.'

＊「アレクスは　きっと　かえってきますわ。
　　ねえ　せんしさま。
　　'Alex will return,won't he?'

＊「ちかごろ　まものどもが　ちからをつけてきたような　きがするのだ。
　　'Monsters seem to be getting stronger.'

＊「ふーむ。
　　どこかで　よくないことが　おこって　いるのかのう……。
　　'Hmm...something awful may be happening somewhere.'

＊「きょうは　もう　みせをしめました。
　　また　あした　きてください。
　　'We're closed for today.
　　 Come back tomorrow.'

＊「えーん　おしっこが　したいよう……。
　　でも　ひとりでいくのは　こわいよう……。
　　'Weep...I want to go to the bathroom,but I'm too scared!'
